Day 1 – Arrival in Sri Lanka
Arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport.
Your guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in Negombo. This coastal town located near the airport is a relaxing place to begin your Sri Lanka journey.
Overnight stay in Colombo.
Day 2 – Negombo to Sigiriya
After breakfast travel to the Cultural Triangle region.
Visit the famous Dambulla Cave Temple, one of the most important Buddhist sites in Sri Lanka.
Continue to Sigiriya where you will stay overnight.
Day 3 – Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa
Climb the magnificent Sigiriya Rock Fortress early in the morning. This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers breathtaking views and fascinating ancient history.
Later visit the ancient city of Polonnaruwa where you can explore temples, statues and royal palaces from Sri Lanka’s medieval period.
Overnight stay in Sigiriya area.
Day 4 – Sigiriya to Kandy
Travel to Kandy with a stop at a spice garden in Matale.
Arrive in Kandy and visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, one of the most important Buddhist temples in the world.
In the evening enjoy a traditional Kandyan cultural dance performance.
Overnight stay in Kandy.
Day 5 – Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
Travel into the beautiful hill country of Sri Lanka.
Visit tea plantations and a tea factory to learn how the famous Ceylon Tea is produced.
Explore the colonial town of Nuwara Eliya known for its cool climate and scenic surroundings.
Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.
Day 6 – Train Journey to Ella
Enjoy one of the most scenic train journeys in the world from Nuwara Eliya to Ella.
The train travels through tea plantations, mountains and waterfalls offering incredible views.
Visit the Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adam’s Peak viewpoint.
Overnight stay in Ella.
Day 7 – Yala National Park Safari
Travel to Yala National Park.
In the afternoon enjoy an exciting jeep safari where you may see elephants, leopards, crocodiles and many bird species.
Overnight stay near Yala.
Day 8 – Galle and Departure
Travel along the southern coast visiting the historic Dutch Fort city of Galle.
Later transfer to the airport for departure.
